Survey Monkey

Getting setup

We use Survey Monkey surveys that we can use to collect qualitative data.

We are using Survey Monkey at this time as because:

  • Any team member can gain access to the qualitative data as we have an unlimited number of casual seats.
  • Was can add additional specific questions -should we need to - to help migrate exiting surveys.
  • We can choose to create survey for specific products/areas of the platform should they need to ask additional questions
  • We can set it up in such a way that we can identify the page the feedback refers to and identify the journal in question.

How to choose from the existing surveys

If you only need to collect responses to the one general CSAT question, you can point to the standard feedback survey. this is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/JTF2VYK

Please ensure the refers are set up correctly, otherwise it won't be possible to analyse the data correctly.

If you need to use additional questions for a specific area of the website, please copy the standard feedback survey, add the additional questions and set up the referrer to that survey.

Please ensure that the people looking after the CSAT survey monitoring are dded as admins to the survey, along with any other relevant team members.

Currently, this would be Niamh Walsh and Steph Marsh.

Testing the survey set up

As well as testing the front end behaviour, you should also test that the qualitative data is being collected, and that we can sort this data by source page, and, importantly, by the journal. [SAY HOW]

How flexible are the survey questions?

There is one CSAT questions that must remain the same in all circumstances. this is to provide benchmarked data across our websites.

This must be included in all the surveys.

It is possible to create a survey for specific pages or tools, if you have either

  • An existing, benchmarked survey to migrate
  • You have an additional question(s) you wish to benchmark and collect data on indefinitely.

This survey will not replace occasional, specific and targeted surveying that may need to be run by Market Intelligence, UX and others.
